JGP Launches a professional services division For Public Sector
Analysis and planning consultancy to facilitate the development of e-recruitment strategies that meet legislative and efficiency agenda demands
Web-based HR services and talent management provider JGP has launched a new division providing specialist business analysis, efficiency consulting and talent management strategy development services for public sector employers.
Delivered as an end-to-end service or project-specific advice depending on customer need, the new consultancy division will help executive agencies, local authorities, housing groups and the third sector to establish strategic plans to attract high quality candidates, streamline HR processes and meet legislative demands while delivering savings such as reduced cost per hire that exceed current and future government Efficiency Agenda targets.

Investment in BME charities ‘needs to rise’
There needs to be more investment into black and ethnic minority (BME) voluntary and charity organisations, a new report has suggested.
In a study by Gary Craig from Hull University, a national capacity-building programme launched by the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations has given the sector its largest single investment at a sum of some £20 million, the Third Sector reports. (more…)
Voluntary sector does “sterling work”
Moves by the government to enhance the role that voluntary and charity organisations play in public life have been welcomed by one member of the Liberal Democrats.
Speaking at a parliamentary debate Norman Baker, MP for Lewes, praised the government’s move towards three-year funding, claiming that such a decision "is essential in giving stability to the voluntary sector". (more…)
Charity Commission launches public opinion survey
The public are to be asked for their opinions regarding the trust and confidence that they have in charities, it has emerged.
In a survey to be carried out by the Charity Commission next year, people will be questioned for their views on how those working in the voluntary sector can instill confidence, news which could be of interest to those operating in the sector seeking to make best use of talent on demand. (more…)
Third sector receives funding boost
Moves by Capacitybuilders to increase funding for the third sector have been welcomed, it has emerged.
According to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), the decision by Capacitybuilders to boost investment into its Learning and Innovation Programme by some £1 million per year will help those with jobs in the third sector to increase levels of support in ICT and workforce development.
