North Dorset council praised for work with network partners

North Dorset district council is ever improving its services, it has been claimed.

The announcement comes as the local authority’s comprehensive performance assessment was rated as good in a recent assessment by the Audit Commission.

According to the commission, the council was commended for improving the quality of services in "priority areas" and investing in the training and development of its staff, news which may be of interest to those seeking social care jobs in the region.

Meanwhile, it was also praised for "effective working" with network partners to "secure substantial external funding to support community priorities and to tackle key service pressures".

Martin Robinson, senior manager for the Audit Commission, said: "North Dorset is now a good council that is performing well in meeting its priorities."

Earlier this month, the commission awarded South Holland district council two out of a maximum of three stars for its moves in helping to provide affordable homes.
