New scheme launched for voluntary bodies
Those working for voluntary bodies and community organisations are being invited to join a new bursary scheme, it has emerged.
The Only Connect initiative, run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), aims to help third sector groups who want to learn more about winning contracts for public services.
Such bodies are than matched with those who already have experience in such matters.
In turn, the news may be of interest to voluntary and community groups looking to establish links with network partners, as a bursary is available to help meet the expense of having meetings and consultations.
The project is sponsored by Tridos Bank.
Sue Cooper, senior manager of the financial service firm’s social banking team, said: "Hundreds of charities and voluntary organisations across the country know how to run financially sound businesses that directly contribute to their success.
"Helping to share their expertise could have far-reaching benefits."
Meanwhile, the NCVO recently announced it is to launch a charity confidence study tracking the opinions and predictions of those working for third sector organisations.
