English Heritage rolls social networking website
English Heritage has launched a social networking website, it has emerged.
Our Place, which is aimed at people working for heritage sector organisations involved in education and community engagement, allows members to share information about the projects that they are operating in.
In addition to learning about the experience of their peers those who register to the site will be able to access news stories about what is going on within the industry.
The website could be of interest to third sector bodies intent on improving the skills framework of their staff.
Commenting on the news, Miriam Levin, head of outreach for English Heritage, said: "Our Place will help bring together the wealth of talent and experience that exists in the field and channel it into providing the very best national resource for those working with socially-excluded communities."
Meanwhile, Joe Saxton, co-founder of nfpSynergy, recently claimed that having an online presence is "essential" for charities and other third sector bodies.
He added that websites can especially help to attract younger supporters.
