Pension schemes ‘can help third sector retain staff’
Educating staff about pension schemes and employee benefit packages could help those working in the third sector with talent management, new research shows.
According to findings from Foster Denovo and the Association of Chief Executives for Voluntary Organisations (acevo), just one in four third sector leaders report that more than 80 per cent of their workforce are members of their pension offer.
Meanwhile, only 29 per cent claim to run regular pension seminars to educate workers about pension benefits.
Commenting on the figures, Ian Bird, principal partner of Foster Denovo, suggested that a good employee rewards package could help third sector leaders with their employee retention.
He said: "The need for effective employee benefits cannot be underestimated and as the employment market becomes increasingly competitive, third sector employers must be clever about how to use their resources to attract and retain the best employees."
Earlier this month, a guide published by Birdsong suggested that staff questionnaires could help charities and voluntary organisations to recognise areas of strength and weakness.
