Brits ‘look online in job hunt’
Britons are increasingly using the internet to search for jobs, a new study indicates.
In the annual National Online Recruitment Audience Survey (NORAS), it was indicated that 76 per cent of jobseekers have applied for a position, which may include jobs within the public sector, that they found online.
The study also indicated that nine per cent of respondents exclusively use the internet in their hunt for a new job - an increase of 50 per cent from the same survey carried out in 2007.
Such news might be of interest to third sector employers looking to use e-recruitment techniques to attract candidates.
Tim Elkington, managing director of Enhance Media, which produces NORAS, said: "This comprehensive survey shows that for an increasing number of jobseekers, the internet is providing everything they need to find a new job."
In other news, it was recently revealed that English Heritage had launched Our Place - a social networking website allowing those for working heritage sector bodies to share information about projects they are working on.
