Employee retention ‘main goal for HR teams’
Improving employee retention is the main challenge for human resources (HR) teams, which could include those operating in the public sector, over the course of this year, it has been claimed.
According to research carried out by Taleo, it was revealed that 30 per cent of businesses surveyed believe retaining staff is their top objective.
Just under a quarter (23 per cent) state that their goal is to hire the best talent.
Neil Hudspith, senior vice-president for Taleo, said: "HR is experiencing sustained pressure to recruit and retain the best people in a market where employees are increasingly calling the shots."
He added that companies are increasing budgets as HR executives look to use technology to assist them with their recruitment management solutions.
A recent study by TalentDrain revealed that about two-thirds of charities and voluntary groups have an annual workforce turnover rate at 16 per cent, while more than nine in ten (93 per cent) wish to reduce turnover levels.
