Third sector centre to provide ‘authoritative basis’
The funding agencies behind the independent research centre for the third sector have announced a number of services that the institution will provide.
With an investment of £10.25 million over five years to create the facility, the Office of the Third Sector, the Economic and Social Research council and the Barrow Cadbury Trust have reported that the centre will set up ‘knowledge transfer partnerships’, ThirdSector.co.uk reports.

‘More should be done to improve employee skills’
This year should be one that sees a rise in employee training, a leading member of parliament has claimed.
According to John Denham, secretary of state for innovation, universities and skills, employers, including those working in the public sector, should look to do more to boost the skills framework of their staff.
