Durham council ‘tackling key issues’
Durham county council is providing a value for money service, it has been claimed.
In a report by the Audit Commission, those working for the public sector body were stated to be performing well and helping to improve the quality of life for local residents.

Website launched for faith charities
A new networking website has been launched for people working for faith-based charities, it has been revealed.
FaithBook, which was rolled out by FaithAction at a London conference earlier this week, is to display opportunities for voluntary and community groups to apply for government funding and examples of best practice.

Capacitybuilders announces charity funding
Three organisations operating in the charity sector are set to receive investment from Capacitybuilders, it has emerged.
Benefiting from about £2 million over the next three years, Rural-net, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (Navca) will use the money to develop workforce and ICT projects.

Leicestershire council ‘making progress’
Leicestershire county council is showing signs of progress in terms of offering a quality service, a new Audit Commission study shows.
In the commission’s corporate assessment report, those working for the public sector group were deemed to be "performing well" and taking steps to improve the region’s economic, social and environmental prospects.

‘Good relationships needed’ for third sector leaders
The Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (acevo) has published guidance for leaders working in the third sector, it has emerged.
Targeted at chief executives, the publication aims to develop working relationships with board members and chairs by making use of case studies which show examples of best practice, ThirdSector.co.uk reports
