London community groups invited to apply for green grant
Those working for non-profit organisations and community groups are being invited to apply for an environmentally-friendly grant.
A total of £1 million is available via the Big Green Challenge for such institutions who think of new ways in which to cut carbon emissions in south London.
Not only will the winning organisations receive part of the fund but it is also hoped that their ideas will be adopted by charities and communities across Britain as part of a framework to lower carbon emissions and maintain sustainable efficiencies.
The challenge has been funded by the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts, a government-financed institution which aims to support innovation and creativity throughout the country.
Entries must be submitted by the end of this month.
Earlier this month, community groups operating in Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham were invited to apply for a £2,000 grant as part of the Under A Better Community to help maintain their services.
More about sustainable efficiencies.
