Website launched for faith charities

A new networking website has been launched for people working for faith-based charities, it has been revealed.

FaithBook, which was rolled out by FaithAction at a London conference earlier this week, is to display opportunities for voluntary and community groups to apply for government funding and examples of best practice.

The website also aims to help charities form links with network partners, access funding grants and deliver contracts, Third Sector reports.

Stephen Timms, minister for employment and welfare reform, said: "Faith-based organisations with government contracts can deliver them not only to a high standard, but to the highest standard."

The body was funded by the Cabinet Office to establish links between charity groups and government institutions.

Earlier this month, Look Ahead published a free guide assisting those people working for charities to target vulnerable sectors of the community effectively.

Financed by Shelter and the Housing Corporation, the document looks at the institution’s experience of working with those with mental health difficulties and homeless people.
