Charities ’should review benefit packages’
Incorporating flexitime for those working for charities and voluntary groups could be beneficial, a new study suggests.
Research carried out by Hays Accountancy & Finance and the Charity Finance Directors’ Group (CFDG) reveals that some 73 per cent of finance directors who work for charities make use of the flexible hours initiative offered by their employer, ThirdSector.co.uk reports.
Commenting on the figures, Andy Robling, director of public services and not-for-profit at Hays, said: "This guide clearly shows the value of offering a complete reward package that includes benefits such as flexible working.
"We would urge all charities to regularly review their recruitment practices, including the benefits they offer."
The study forms part of a CFDG study analysing what benefits third sector finance directors would like to receive.
Upon offering such a scheme, it may be possible that third sector leaders are able to maintain talent management levels.
A study by Taleo earlier this year indicated that 30 per cent of human resource teams, which may include those working in the public sector, look to retain staff over the course of this year.
