York charities to receive funding guidance

Posted in News on the March 7th, 2008

Those working for charities in York are being invited to attend a free advisory session.

Later this month, voluntary and community groups in the North Yorkshire city will receive face-to-face guidance from Futurebuilders on how to secure funding for projects.

During the course of the day, attendants will also take part in workshops advising them on how to apply for grants and hear about cases of best practice.

Marianne Patterson, senior outreach officer for Futurebuilders England, claimed that the organisation had been conducting one-on-one advisory sessions in Newcastle and London "for some time now and the response to them has been overwhelming".

She said: "We are very excited to be conducting them in other locations throughout the country and hope the response is just as positive."

Ms Patterson added that the majority of bodies who have received pre-application help in the past are placed on the shortlist for investment.

The session takes place on March 28th.

It was recently revealed that a similar event is to take place for charities based in Leicester on March 18th.
