New social enterprise directory launched
A new website has been rolled out targeting those who work for social enterprises, it has emerged.
Launched by Can, the online directory is aimed to help such organisations share resources and develop links with potential network partners, Third Sector reports.
In addition, the free site will allow social enterprises to become more visible to both the media and private businesses, in addition to those working in the public sector.
Adele Blakebrough, chief executive of Can, said: "This isn’t solely about a two-way relationship.
"It is about giving organisations trading for social aims the opportunity to find each other."
She added that launching the directory also gives the support body the chance to collect "valuable data" on those working within the social enterprise sector and to help track such organisations’ experiences when forming policies and opinions.
At the beginning of this month it was revealed seven charities working for people with disabilities, including People First and Scope, are to form links at network partners to help other third sector groups access funding.
