Health leaders ‘need more support’
The majority of leaders working for medium-sized health and social care organisations in the voluntary sector are not getting access to a skills portal to improve their knowledge, new research indicates.
In a study carried out by the Third Sector Leadership Centre and Henley Management College, some 95 per cent of 150 leaders questioned believe that they are unable to expand their leadership skills.

New voluntary guide launched
A new publication has been launched today (March 17th) targeting those who work for voluntary organisations, it has emerged.
Designed by GoldStar, the guide offers advice for such institutions when working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds, Third Sector reports.

New social enterprise directory launched
A new website has been rolled out targeting those who work for social enterprises, it has emerged.
Launched by Can, the online directory is aimed to help such organisations share resources and develop links with potential network partners, Third Sector reports.

Disability charities ‘may be able to make tax claims’
Charities working for people with disabilities may be in line for a financial boost, it has been suggested.
Accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK claimed that those working for voluntary and community groups may be able to reclaim thousands of pounds in VAT following a recent tribunal.

Local authorities to receive climate change fund
A multimillion pound initiative has been unveiled to help those working in the public sector improve their environmentally-friendly practices, it has been revealed.
Funded by Communities and Local Government and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the £4 million fund will allow local councils to provide training to staff on how to reduce their environmental impact and exchange examples of best practice.
