Third sector groups given sustainability guidance

A new publication has been launched to help people working for third sector organisations to adopt eco-friendly practices within their office space, it has been revealed.

The Changing the Way We Work guide by Every Action Counts offers such institutions advice on how to cut down on energy usage and source goods ethically.

York charities to receive funding guidance

Those working for charities in York are being invited to attend a free advisory session.

Later this month, voluntary and community groups in the North Yorkshire city will receive face-to-face guidance from Futurebuilders on how to secure funding for projects.

www.localenvironmentskills.org goes live at ENCAMS’ Cleaner Safer Greener Conference held in Manchester.

Localenvironmentskills.org is the first of many planned sector specific Skills Portals. This site offers a complete online toolkit for people working within local environmental public services. It’s a publicly accessible website with the aim of raising skills among everyone involved in keeping the country clean and tidy. This ranges from Street Cleaners to Planners to Strategic Directors. Back in December and January 2008 Jobsgopublic actively encouraged organisations to place jobs on the Jobsgopublic network; which in return we donated £10 per listed job for those months to the Bangladesh Appeal, run through the Disasters Emergency Committee (www.dec.org.uk). (more…)
