N Ireland charities ‘to benefit from technology scheme’
Those working for charities and voluntary organisations in Northern Ireland are set to receive a technological boost, it emerged.
In an announcement by the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (Nicva), it was revealed that the Charity Technology Exchange will provide new products and IT assistance to third sector groups from firms such as Cisco, Symantec and Microsoft.

NCVYS advises accreditation for youth volunteers
People working for voluntary organisations involved with young people should have the chance to pursue qualifications and development opportunities, it has been suggested.
According to the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS), such volunteers should be required to have a portfolio of work indicating what training and experience they have. From here they would then receive a certificate or card identifying themselves as a volunteer youth worker, ThirdSector reports.

RNID releases guidance for charities
The Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) has published a new guide for those working for charities and voluntary organisations, it has been revealed.
Aimed at helping third sector groups to communicate to those people with hearing difficulties, Sound Solutions looks to offer guidance on how they can meet obligations within the workplace in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Charities ‘to receive tax assistance’
Those working for small charities could be in line to receive financial boost following the launch of a new website, it has been stated.
In addition to listing details of all the country’s registered charities, Help.co.uk will also automatically collect the government’s gift aid tax top-up to all donations for charitable organisations that it receives.
