Tate Modern to host charity seminar

Those working for charities are being invited to attend a free seminar in London.

Held next month at the city’s Tate Modern gallery, the event will see third sector groups given advice on how to develop online campaigns and improve the management of their websites.

Third sector groups ’should get involved in commissioning process’

It is important for those working for third sector bodies to get involved in the commissioning process for service contracts, the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (Navca) has reported.

The association’s comments come after the Institute of Commissioning Professionals released a new definition of commissioning pointing out that it is the process by which services are secured which sufficiently address the needs of individual users.

Employee retention ‘important issue for employers’

Retaining skilled workers is one of the most important objectives for businesses, it has been claimed.

In a study carried out by KPMG, it was revealed that 83 per cent of organisations view their staff as being crucial in them keeping an edge over their competitors, PersonnelToday.com reports.

Charities ‘hiring interim managers to assist with projects’

Charities are increasingly looking towards bringing senior managers on a short-term basis, a new study shows.

In research carried out by Russam GMS, it was revealed that just under a fifth of interim managers working for voluntary groups claim to have been hired to carry out fundraising roles.
