Website created to assist charities with online donations

A new website has been created to help charities manage tribute funds online, it has been revealed.

Created by Our Lasting Tribute and Whitewater, the site allows those working for voluntary and charitable organisations to assist donors to pay tribute to someone who has died while also raising funds for their chosen charity at the same time.

Those signing up to the initiative will be given a web page in which visitors will be able to make donations and leave tribute messages.

Kevin Kibble, managing director of Our Lasting Tribute, said: "This is a major step forward in tribute giving and puts the donor at the heart of the programme.

"This web platform has been designed to be accessible to most sizes of organisation."

He added that the online portal provides a cost-effective and easily administrable way of managing the "enormous potential of tribute fundraising".

Following on from such assistance charities may find that they are able to maintain sustainable efficiencies more effectively.

Earlier this year, The Boost Initiative, organised by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, called for charities to provide them with information about those trusts which have difficulties in distributing funds quickly.

More about sustainable efficiencies.
