North East Derbyshire council making “significant” improvements
Those working for a council in the east Midlands are offering an improving service to their residents, it has been revealed.
In the Audit Commission’s comprehensive performance assessment (CPA), North East Derbyshire council was given an "excellent" rating.
This represents an increase from a previous CPA report in which the public sector body had been reported as being "weak".
Andrew Blackburn, senior manager for the Audit Commission, said: "The council has made significant progress since its last CPA inspection.
"The council has revised its structures and invested heavily in customer service and access."
Furthermore, the local authority was commended for its operations with network partners and offering services which are based on residents’ needs.
In addition, the commission indicated that the council is focusing on cost-effectiveness and delivering priorities.
Earlier this month, North Tyneside council was praised by the Audit Commission for implementing various regeneration projects across the borough.
