Birmingham charities invited to Compact focus group

Posted in News on the May 29th, 2008

Those working for voluntary and community groups in the West Midlands are being invited to take part in a discussion forum, it has been revealed.

On June 5th Compact Voice will ask third sector institutions in Birmingham on how they feel the Compact agreement is helping them to maintain their independence.

In addition, attending charitable and voluntary organisations will be questioned on whether they believe that campaigning or being critical of the government will have an impact on their ability to access future funds.

Other areas third sector groups will be questioned on include how they follow their "mission" and if they have ever felt they have been evaluated or monitored too heavily.

Such news may be of interest to those charities wishing to maintain sustainable efficiencies.

Stefan Simanowitz, national officer for Compact Voice, claimed that the results of the focus group will help the organisation to assist national charities in safeguarding their independence.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that charities are to receive guidance on how to reduce energy usage following the launch of the Charity Utility Initiative - a scheme by Gazprom and Bizzenergy.

More about sustainable efficiencies.
