Community relations projects receive funding

Posted in News on the June 9th, 2008

A new funding initiative has been launched for those operating within the third sector, it has been revealed.

Offering a total of £750,000, the Barrow Cadbury Trust fund will provide financial assistance to community and voluntary organisations which look to improve relations between people from different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.

It is thought the typical project receiving a fund will benefit from around £30,000 over a two-year period.

Sukhvinder Kaur-Stubbs, chief executive of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, said: "Some of the poorest parts of Britain are also the most ethnically diverse.

"As a charitable foundation, we need to help local communities join forces to tackle poverty and inequality, rather than compete over limited resources."

Such news may be of interest to third sector groups wishing to maintain sustainable efficiencies.

Earlier this year, Community Projects revealed it is to launch a new website aimed at helping community projects to display their services and receive press coverage.

More about sustainable efficiencies.
