New volunteer website launched
A new website has been launched for those working for charities, it has been revealed.
In addition, the website provides information on fundraising legislation, forums where volunteers can share ideas and best practice guidance.
Financed by the Office of the Third Sector and the Vodafone UK Foundation, the Institute of Fundraising-operated website allows volunteers to upload information about the charity they work for and create sponsorship forms and other promotional materials bearing the logo of the institution which they represent.
Lindsay Boswell, chief executive of the institute, said: "Volunteers raise billions for charity each year.
"If we can help them raise even a few per cent more, then that will be a massive additional contribution to good causes."
Following such guidance it may be possible that those operating in the voluntary sector are able to improve the skills framework for the charities in which they work for.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Greater London Volunteering had launched a new online portal to help those wishing to work as volunteers to find such opportunities across the capital.
