Scottish charities to receive funding

A multimillion pound investment is to be made into those working for third sector groups in Scotland, it has emerged.

In an announcement by the region’s government, it was revealed that an investment fund is to be created to help charities become financially sustainable and assist them in attempts to increase turnover.

Worth a total of £30 million, the fund opens on September 1st.

John Swinney, finance secretary, said: "The third sector is often best placed to connect with individuals the public sector finds hardest to reach and to bring employment opportunities and income to individuals where the private sector doesn’t operate."

He went on to report that the third sector has a "pivotal role" in boosting economic growth across Scotland.

Such news might be of interest to charities wishing to maintain sustainable efficiencies.

Last week, the Welsh Assembly government unveiled its Communities First scheme which will see community and voluntary in the region receive a total of £25 million over the next three years.

More about sustainable efficiencies.
