LSC expands skills scheme for unpaid volunteers
Organisations operating within the third sector may find that the skills framework of their staff is improved.
The news comes as the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has expanded its Train to Gain initiative to incorporate those working for charities and voluntary organisations on an unpaid basis.

Third sector HR staff ‘advised to work with smaller charities’
Those working for large human resources (HR) teams within the third sector should work with smaller charities, it has been reported.
According to the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (acevo) larger HR groups should forge links as network partners with smaller organisations, offering free advice on grievance cases.

NCVO establishes funding commission
Those operating in the charity sector could be on track to receive financial assistance in years to come, it has been revealed.
In moves announced by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), a new funding commission is to be created monitoring the funding position for organisations in the third sector.

Charity leaders ‘looking to weather the storm’
Those operating within the charitable sector remain confident about the future prospects of their organisations, a new study shows.
Figures released by the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) as part of its second quarterly survey revealed that the confidence of leaders at voluntary and community groups stands at 40 per cent.

Scottish charities ‘could receive financial assistance’
Those working for charities in Scotland could be on track to receive a financial boost, it has been reported.
The recently-created Scottish Community Foundation aims to release cash held in charitable trusts which have lain dormant for significant periods of time to donate to small third sector bodies throughout the region.
