First charity to benefit from Futurebuilders scheme revealed
A group of charity workers has benefited from a support scheme provided by Futurebuilders, it has been revealed.
It has emerged that educational charity Dyslexia Action has a received a loan worth some £30,000 in order to meet tendering costs for public sector contracts.
As such, the charity is the first group to benefit from the funding, which offers sums of between £3,000 and £50,000 to third sector groups looking for financial assistance.
Jonathan Lewis, chief executive of Futurebuilders England, said: "The Tender Fund was specifically set up to help organisations like Dyslexia Action who have the skills and the expertise to win public sector contracts, but who simply can’t afford the costs involved in preparing competitive bids."
Mr Lewis went on to claim that these are charities and voluntary groups who need assistance in meeting numerous tendering expenses - which could range from legal bills to advice from procurement specialists.
Following on from such help it may be possible that charities are able to manage sustainable efficiencies more effectively.
Earlier this month it was revealed that third sector groups working with people from socially-excluded parts of society were invited to apply for funding by GoldStar to help improve their services.
More about sustainable efficiencies.
