Charities advised to improve donor relations

Those working for charities need to operate more effectively in order to attract donors, it has been stated.

In the 2008 Expedition: Re¬-discovering and Climbing the Donor Pyramid report by Tony Elischer, it was claimed that third sector bodies tend to neglect "incidental donors" - those who occasionally purchase products from charities or attend fundraising events.

Navca welcomes sport funding consultation

Those operating for sport-related community organisations could be set to receive more effective financial support, it has been revealed.

In an announcement by Sport England, it was indicated that the organisation is to consult with community groups, sport institutions and members of the public on ways in which the £45 million handed out in National Lottery funding each year is allocated.

North-east charities issued with leadership guidance

Those working for charity and voluntary groups across the north-east have been issued with new support, it has been revealed.

Moves by voluntary organisation’s network north east (VONNE) - the regional infrastructure body for the third sector - have released a new strategy giving managers at charitable institutions advice on how leadership can help their organisations be more effective.

Government looks to improve Gift Aid

The government has announced plans to improve Gift Aid and payroll giving for those working for charities, it has been reported.

At the Charity Tax Group’s (CTG) annual general meeting, it was stated that as the amount of money that voluntary and charitable organisations have received from such donation systems has increased over the last ten years, improvements need to be made in regards to their efficiency.

Welsh Assembly strengthens links with third sector

The Welsh Assembly government has strengthened its commitment to voluntary and charitable organisations in the region, it has been revealed.

At an event held in the Welsh capital of Cardiff, the Assembly government forged stronger links at network partners with the third sector following the signing of an agreement to issue funding over a period of five years.
